Down but not out… Well, Kind of.

Well, it's now December, all of the contests are done, I finished both my Props interview and my Ride UK interview (both of which dropped last month). Not to pat myself on the back too much but I'm very pleased with the year I've had. And Lately, I've been riding a ton! When people say that it usually means that they're shredding hard and overall kicking ass. For me, not so much. The last couple of sessions have been absolutely shitty and a little bit embarrassing. I'm falling on tricks that I nearly never mess up on and getting the strangest most pesky injuries... Last week alone I got the worst shinner of my life, rolled my ankle, and bruised my balls... Yeah, my sack is all black and blue right now, sorry if that grosses you out. Today was the icing on the cake... I'm out in Arizona trying to get a jump start on some filming for the up and coming Kink video (Due out Oct. '08) and we're riding some jumps, feeling good, and having a good time in the sunny warm weather. I was doing an invert of all tricks and I washed out and went down hard splitting my chin (eight stitches) and scraping the shit out of my face. After five hours in the ER waiting to get stitches I got to thinking...
I absolutely hate taking time off of my bike, I go insane, I love riding and I'm also a little bit compulsive, sorry but it's true. However, I've been thinking that maybe taking a few weeks off of the bike might not be such a bad idea. You know, let my body rest/heal and get back to neutral. I've got a very busy year coming up and I don't want to get burned out so as of today I'm taking a brief hiatus from the bike. I haven't decided how long it's gonna be yet and I'm sure I'm gonna lose my mind a little bit but I think this is gonna be good for me, I'll keep you posted... A new year, a fresh start!
Talk Soon!
